when we measured the red cupboard
Three or four weeks ago a few of us Icosahedrons measured the teachers cupboard using unifix cubes. My DLO is a photo of me and my friends after the measuring was done. The learning was based on measuring (obviously)so we had just learnt how to measure the volume of a 3D shape (height, width and length) so a little group of us set a goal really high that was to find the correct volume of the cupboard. Have you ever measured anything? If so what objects have you measured? Asher ,Emma, Emma and Molly.

explanation writing
This week we were learning how to write explanations and we got to choose our topic. I chose pugs' natural features and problems. My DLO is my published writing . This week's learning was four steps long.Research, plan ,write and publish. What types of writing do you do?
Do you know why pugs have squished faces?Throughout this piece of writing I will tell you why pugs have squished faces, short snouts and health problems.
Pugs from earliest records are chinese bred. The chinese bred pugs to have short snouts because it makes them extra cute.
Pugs' short snouts cause a flat face. Lots of other breeds have flat faces including Bulldogs, Boston Terriers and of course pugs. The scientific name for flat faced dogs is brachycephalic.
Flat faced dogs can easily get skin eye and breathing problems.pugs suffer from BOAS(brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome)
Now you can see why pugs have flat faces.so to summarise pugs are bred to have short snouts which causes the flat faces which causes breathing problems.

What is a covenant?
This week we were learning about a covenant. In our presentations we had to be explaining what a covenant is and how a covenant is different from an agreement, why God made a covenant with the Israelites? Naming one promise and say what the people had to do in return. My DLO shows I can record and add music in wevideo and write a song on docs.
Here is the song lyrics and video
The covenant song
Chorus
A covenant has 2 sides. It's simple like the pull of the tide. One side is ours and the other is God's. He'll make you a promise but you must do something in return.
Verse 1
A covenant is something that you might not know. It's a promise between God and us. Have you ever wondered what a covenant is? well for your information it’s simple with a little explanation.
Chorus
A covenant has 2 sides. It's simple like the pull of the tide. One side is ours and the other is God's. He'll make you a promise but you must do something in return
Verse 2
The promise God had for Abraham and Sarah was simple but it meant them a lot. He promised them a child and in return they had to travel from their home in ur to canaan. His promise to the israelites is quite another. He promised them that they represent him on they earth but in return they must follow his law to keep the peace and love forever
Chorus
A covenant has 2 sides. It's simple like the pull of the tide. One side is our’s and the other’s is God's. He'll make you a promise but you must do something in return
Finale
So love one another that’s your covenant with god so keep it and love will be for all!

so you think you about abraham and sarah?
Do you know about Abraham and Sarah? Abraham and Sarah are famous christians who desperately wanted a child and so God promised them one but in return they had to travel from ur to canaan and be patient. Today we created a role play telling the story of abraham and sarah and their call.I enjoyed filming because we we had a good laugh.I found it challenging to write the script because it couldn't be word for word of the video. here is the link to the video.
Here is the scriptThe story of Abraham and Sarah
This story is God's promise to Abraham
My name is Hannah and I am the narrator.
My name is Zoe and I will play as Abraham.
My name is Sreelakshmi and I will be playing as Sarah.
And my name is Emma and I will be playing the voice of God. `~
*(everyone bows)
This story is God's promise to Abraham and it went like this.
Abraham was married to a woman named Sarah, they really wanted children but they felt hopeless after Sarah failed to bear a child
One day God announced to Abraham that he was going to have kids.
I will give you as many children as the dust of the earth.
This was God's funny way of telling Abraham he would have lots and lots of children, this was impossible to believe, judging from the fact they were too old, Abraham replied to God;
Can specks of dust actually be counted?
If they can then so can your children.
By next year Sarah will have a child.
Really?
I'm way too old to have a child.
Yeah you're old.
But sure enough the next year after Abraham finally turned 100, Sarah fell pregnant.
(new scene)
We should name him Isaac. It means laughter.
God has brought me laughter.
Everyone who hears about this will laugh with us and think about it. An old lady having a baby is pretty hilarious.
Are you calling me old?
Yes I am.
You're older.
No I'm not.
(Abraham replies in an offended tone.)
Yes you are!
So you see God kept his promise to give them a son even
though they thought it was impossible. It was easy for God.Eventually guess who was born in their line? Jesus the Savior himself.
Thank-you for watching our play
here is the final product
