The best part of me.

 This week we learnt about poetry. We learnt about how an effective poem has repetition and ryhming. How a poem is written to express feelings or ideas and how words are chosen by their beauty and meaning. My digital learning object is my poem. We went black and white theme, then published our poem, then had photos taken of the best part of us.This poem writing went well because I love poetry although I found it tricky to come up with a fourth idea  for my poem.Have you written a poem before ? Mini golf measurement

Today we learnt about perimeter and area. Area is when you measure a shape and multiply the width and length. Perimeter is when you measure the length and width and add all the sides together.My digital learning object is my mini golf course.On my mini golf course I added the images  to weave around and the ball to show the start and the flag to show where  the course finishes. I enjoyed adding objects and finding the perimeter of my course.I found it tricky to find the area of my course.Have you ever measured the area or perimeter?

Celebrating Matariki in Scratch

 Today  we were learning how to code our matariki scratch projects. We started by choosing a sprite to be us I chose the unicorn. Next we had to choose a space themed background. Today I learnt how to make a sprite appear and disappear and change backdrops . When I get the chance to continue  my project I will  take  the stars to find the whole cluster then stop and hear why we celebrate matariki and some legends . 

when we measured the red cupboard

 Three or four weeks ago a few of us Icosahedrons measured the teachers cupboard using unifix cubes. My DLO is  a photo of me and my friends  after the measuring was done.  The learning was based on measuring (obviously)so we had just learnt how to measure the volume  of a 3D shape  (height, width and length)  so a little group of us set a goal really high that was to find the correct volume of the cupboard. week 8 Author's purpose

 This week  we were learning about  matariki because it is the maori new year. We learnt about the matariki season and for my group's create we created our own matariki themed author's purpose .This piece of learning is a learn create share so you learn about your topic  create a  DLO  then share it to your blog. This week we learnt how  to deliver a play.My  DLO shows I can use  book creator to show my play..This learning is a learn create share so we read a text rehearsed created a book and then posted it to our blogs.Have you used book creator?click the link to access the real book .

My Author's purpose

This week we were learning how to identify different text types and write a summary. My DLO shows I can add shapes with text and shows I can change backgrounds of textboxes. This learning is a learn create share so first we learnt about matariki then did an Author's purpose  then posted it to our bloggs. Have you done an author's purpose before? Oil and water science experiment

This week we learnt how to conduct an experiment. For our DLO we  had to split the group in half to have enough space on the slide then  created a slideshow about the materials used for the experiment , our hypothesis and methods. Art competition

This week we were learning about shading because we have to create an entry for the home learning book cover competition. This photo is of my art. You can see the four house symbols, four values and the school crest and motto. Our learning started with learning about shading on slides watching a video then starting your cover. I think my cover design is colourful and bright.  Do you hold any art competitions at school?

My amazing bedroom and a dream in paradise.

The past two weeks we have been learning how to write descriptive pieces of writing. My DLO shows I can  publish my writing online and add images. My writings  both started  the same way. We read the example, wrote a plan then used the  keywords in our plan  to write. Have you ever  written descriptive writing? We used no digital sources for this, we just used our books.

A Dream In Paradise

 

As I stand  on an isolated island  I'm greeted with the smell of  strong salty water. And a view of light aquamarine water and emerald green swaying shrubs. Snowy White fluffy clouds float above  my head. I can hear a roaring motor engine start, along with that the waves start crashing harder. A cool light breeze brushes against my face and the lukewarm water fills me with happiness. My tongue prickles with the taste of salty water.

My amazing bedroom

My favourite  part of our house is my amazing bedroom.I personally love my bedroom because it has been personalized. On a nice day it is sunny, warm and naturally lit.

In my squarish room you can see my king's single  bed. Next to my bed   is my  book nook.at the end of my book nook is my bookshelf.  If I could  change something it would be my wallpaper, usually you can find  me reading  a good book on my bed.

My room is usually tidy except for  the occasional mess. unlike the rest of my family who always have clothes and shoes all over the floor. plus it always stinks in their  rooms.

In my room you can smell fresh air and sour grape lollipop you can snuggle down on my super comfy bed . You can hear the harsh wind banging against the window.

My bedroom is definitely my favorite place in our house and it always makes me feel loved.

My quick and easy mothers' day card

This week it is Mothers day so we made cards. First we got a piece of card and folded it in half  and on one side we had to poke holes but we had to make sure they didn't go through all of the card. Secondly we had to get  a piece of tape and string to stick to a kebab stick and then tied a knot at the end of the string then we wove our cards. Lastly we wrote a message and decorated it and stuck it to the inside of the card.

 Today in class  we set our goals   our social, R.E.,academic and learning disposition . my  digital learning object shows I can add text images and change fonts. I enjoyed sitting down  with my parents  and doing my whanau  can support me by because   I got to sit down and and have a quality conversation with my parents. I found it challenging to decide on my goals. here are my goals .
